Civic Sunday

DALTON Civic Service will take place on Sunday.

The parade will set off from Dalton Town Hall at 1.45pm and go through the town and end at St Mary’s Parish Church for the civic service led by Reverend Alan Mitchell.

Taking part in the parade are Dalton Town Band, Royal British Legion, representatives from the Guides, Boy Scouts, the police, Dalton mayor Liz Young and various members of the council.

Councillor Young said: “My chosen theme is the community working together for the good of all.

“I have invited all the religious groups in Dalton to attend and the pastors of the United Reformed Church, The Seventh-Day Adventists and The City of Joy are contributing with readings and prayers.

“I just hope the weather is nicer than it was last year!”

After the service a reception will be held in Dalton Conservative Club for invited guests.
