Celebrating work of carers

THE work of unpaid carers is set to be celebrated in South Cumbria as part of a national initiative.

Carers Week highlights the contribution made by voluntary carers to their families and communities.

This year, the theme is “In Sickness and in Health”.

It calls for greater support for carers to help them carry out their role without facing illness themselves.

South Lakes Carers Week events will highlight how South Lakeland Carers is working with GP surgeries to help them recognise and support carers within their practices.

An information and promotion event hosted by South Lakeland Carers is being held on Friday, starting at 10.30am.

It is being held at Grange Clinic in Hampsfell Road, with guests including South Lakes MP, Tim Farron.
