Camilla coming to Barrow

BARROW is getting a
surprise royal visit later this month when
Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, returns to meet the crew of the Astute.
The Duchess of Cornwall will arrive at the shipyard on Tuesday
October 21.
She will meet members of the 98-strong crew and tour the submarine.
The Duchess, married to Prince Charles, is the lady patron of the
submarine which she launched in Barrow in June last year.
As patron, the Duchess will follow Astute’s
progress throughout its career in the Royal Navy.
A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said: “The Duchess of Cornwall,
as sponsor of Astute, will attend a reception and meet the ship’s company and their families.”
BAE spokesman Chris Nelson said: “We will be delighted to have the Duchess of Cornwall, as sponsor of the first of class Astute, back in
Barrow to see the crew and to see how the boat is progressing.”
