Budgie and hamster stolen in Barrow burglary

A BUDGIE and a hamster have been stolen in a Barrow house burglary.

Barrow police said the pets were taken from James Street sometime between 10pm on Wednesday and 1am today.

The budgie is green and was stolen with its cage from the town centre house.

Also stolen was an X Box console and damage was caused to a TV.

Another burglary also happened in the street during the three hours period.

The other house had paint thrown around it and paper was attempted to be set alight.

This caused £200-worth of damage.

Police said in both incidents entry was gained at the back of the properties.
