Body found in Lake District confirmed to be that of missing walker

POLICE have confirmed that the body of a man found in the Lake District was that of missing man, Christopher Blowman.

Mr Blowman, 67, from Carlton, Louth, was reported missing on Wednesday. He had set off for a walk in Scafell Pike but did not return as expected.

Mountain rescue teams and the police searched the area and Mr Blowman's body was found at Piers Ghyll on Thursday.

His family have been informed.

There are no suspicious circumstances and details have been passed to the coroner.
