BUMPER crowds will flock to a vintage vehicle show this weekend.
Millom Bike Group is hosting its first vintage car and bike show at The Green tomorrow.
The group, which has raised £15,000 over eight years for the North West Air Ambulance, is anticipating thousands of visitors.
Triumphs and BSA motorcycles will be among the scores of vehicles on display.
There are 60-plus vintage cars set to be polished and shown off at the site.
The event has been organised by Millom Bike Group and all proceeds will be split between the group, the Pride of Cumbria Great North Air Ambulance Service and Thwaites Village Hall.
Bill Jones, chairman of Millom Bike Group, said: “We’re expecting about 5,000 people – flyers have gone out all over Walney, Kendal, Millom.
“I was talking to a biker at the supermarket earlier and I gave him a flyer and he said there were people coming up from Warrington.
“We’re really looking forward to it.
“We’ve spent the last 12 months organising it, it’ll be a right good day.”
The group chose the air ambulance as it costs around £1m per year to run and receives no government funding.
Mr Jones added: “They have helped us before.
“When the group first started, one of our lads was picked up by them and we decided to give something back.
“We know them well and they are the best bunch you could ever meet.
“They are really down to earth and nothing is ever any trouble.”
The event takes place at Thwaites Village Hall playing fields, The Green, between 11.30am and 4.30pm. Entry is £3 per adult and £1 for children under 12.
Under-fives can enter for free.
