Police name man who died following industrial accident

POLICE have identified the man who died after an accident at a Barrow industrial estate.
At 1.22pm yesterday police were called to Meeting Industrial Estate in Barrow.
Andrew Bowes was involved in an incident in which a steel unit, which was being lifted by a crane, appears to have fallen.
The 37-year-old, of Mill Bank, Barrow, was taken to Furness General Hospital, where he died.
A second man, aged 31, was also injured and was taken to Furness General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation has been launched and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
Detective Chief Inspector Bob Qazi said: "We are making extensive inquiries to establish the exact circumstances that have resulted in
this tragic event and are working with the Health and Safety Executive.
"We have specially trained officers supporting the family of Mr Bowes at this time."

this has shocked me to the core, i didnt know Andy but was there after the incident, so very sad. My thoughts are with his family.
