Moped and car in Barrow smash

POLICE were called to the scene of an accident after a moped was involved in a collision with a car.

The incident happened at around 7pm at the junction of Abbey Road and Park Drive in Barrow.

Police redirected traffic while the moped rider was tended to by paramedics. They were then taken to Furness General Hospital for further treatment.

Police could be seen examining the moped and a silver Peugeot 207 at the scene.

Traffic was flowing freely again by 7.40pm.
