Man charged with GBH after Barrow assault

A MAN has been charged with grievous bodily harm after an assault in Barrow which left the victim with serious facial and body injuries.
It comes after an incident in the early hours of Friday morning, when a local man was attacked inside an address on Greengate Street, Barrow.
The 45-year-old is still in hospital, where his condition is described as stable.
A 21-year-old was arrested close to the scene following the incident.
Following a police investigation, Peter Liam Johnson, of no fixed abode, was charged with GBH wounding with intent. He appeared before Furness Magistrates on Saturday morning, where he was remanded into custody.
Police would like to thank the public for their assistance, and have reassured people that this was not a random attack.
