Fire crews from Barrow, Grange and Milnthorpe tackle blaze

FIRE crews from Barrow, Grange and Milnthorpe tackled a blaze this evening (Friday).

Crews were called to a fire at a two-storey commercial building at Station Yard, Grange-Over-Sands at 6.15pm after smoke was spotted coming from the roof.

The fire was in the roof space of a building supplies firm on the site near Grange railway station.

The blaze was brought under control by 7.45pm.

No-one was believed to be in the building.

Investigations are under way into how, and where, the fire started.

Have your say

Thinking about everyone at the site in Grange and the loss of the Buisness. I hope none of the others are involved especially Andrew Badderley at Yewbarrow Garage, who has a super little Buisness there.

Further to my last comment, Barrow should have enough fire engines to not only cope with whatever the town throws at them but to provide backup and support for our smaller towns and villages not the other way round
