A CAR rolled off a driveway and fell 10ft over a ledge.
The Ford C-Max rolled off the drive of its owner’s Rating Lane home, in Barrow, before crashing through railings and over an embankment. It was left facing backwards, with its boot crushed against a lamppost and its front wheels still on the embankment.
Police and firefighters was called to the scene at about 2.30pm yesterday.Barrow fire crew manager Mick Wills said: “The owner had parked the car on his driveway and about half and hour later he heard a crash.
“The car slipped down the driveway, through the railings and on to the pavement below. Thankfully, there was no-one in the car or walking in the proximity at the time.”
Firefighters cordoned off the area until a recovery vehicle was able to remove it from the scene.

Glad no-one was walking on the footpath !
Was the handbrake on or what?

Have your say
Maybe the handbrake cable snapped? Always a good idea to park it in gear in case this happens. At least no one was hurt- that's the main thing.
