A PET owner has denied owning two dangerous dogs.
Rochelle Irwin appeared before Furness Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The 27-year-old, of Marsh Street, Barrow, denies possessing two fighting dogs, which are alleged to be American Pit Bull-type dogs.
Proceedings were adjourned until October 23 to allow an expert to assess the nature of the dogs, named Coco and Diamond.

I don't know the facts behind this story, but no where does it mention that the dogs have shown any aggression or 'mauled' any children. David, have you actually read Section 1 of the DDA; it states that any dog can be seized etc if it is a banned breed or just looks like a banned breed. Dogs have been being seized and killed for 21yrs on looks alone in the UK and this is regardless of temprement or behaviour. Maybe before you come out with such statements you should find out all the facts.
