AS SOUTH Cumbria feels the heat we've got some cool summer fun prizes to give away.

The area is basking in sunshine and we have teamed up with Tesco Extra in Barrow to give a family the chance to win a paddling pool and some water guns for the kids, and a couple of disposable barbecues for the adults to do some outdoor cooking.

The Barrow store has been restocking its selves with paddling pools and outdoor kids toys, which are always popular in hot weather like this.

The contest runs until 12pm on Wednesday.

South Cumbrian's have been slapping on the sun cream and reaching for their shades. The sunshine has attracted people to Biggar Bank, on Walney, with folk enjoying a summer stroll on the seafront and an ice cream from Rossi's Cold Bar. Youngsters have donned their sun caps and taken to the play park.

Another popular spot has been Barrow Park. Families have been enjoying picnics in the park and little ones have also been having fun on the swings.

This evening (Monday) will be warm and muggy, with a minimum temperature of 13 °C.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) will be another very warm day, with a maximum temperature of 27 °C.

The weather will be warm and humid through Wednesday, with a risk of thunderstorms.
