A WOMAN from Walney has pleaded guilty to attempting to impede a police investigation after a vicious attack on Barrow Island.
Kyla Louise Darling appeared at Preston Crown Court today.
The 35-year-old, of Folkstone Avenue, Walney, was accused of concealing clothing and providing false information and statements to police between May 10 and May 13 while officers were looking for Simon Ashworth.
Ashworth, 27, pleaded guilty to section 18 wounding with intent when he appeared at Preston Crown Court earlier this month.
Following the attack at around 11.30pm on May 11, in Schooner Street, Barrow Island, the victim was taken to Furness General hospital with severe head injuries. He remained in hospital for several weeks.
Ashworth is due to be sentenced on November 11 at Preston Crown Court and has been warned he faces a jail sentence for the attack.
Darling today pleaded guilty and will be sentenced on the same date as Ashworth.
