BARROW's town centre was packed full of festive families who turned up in their droves to see the annual Christmas light switch on.

This year the entertainment packed a punch with local favourites taking centre stage like Beth and Dennis Horan, Cora May Brennan and Tiffany Southward who wowed as Taylor Swift.

Southward was almost drown out by fans singing along as she belted Ms Swift's former number one single, 'Look what you made me do.'

Panto stars Cinderella and Buttons also got involved singing festive favourites such as 'All I want for Christmas' and jeering up the crowds with chanting and games.

The highlight of the night was headline act, Kevin Simm who sang a mixture of pop classics, such as Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep' and some of his own songs.

Simm spent years with the Brit winning pop group, Liberty X before appearing as a contestant on the talent contest The Voice when it was on BBC.
