A 35-YEAR-OLD Barrow man has been arrested on suspicion of injuring a woman in Egerton court.

Police were called out around 1pm today after receiving reports of an injured woman at the Barrow Island address.

A spokesperson for Cumbria police released the following statement: "Police were called at 1.05pm to reports of an injured woman at an address at Egerton Court, Barrow.

"Officers attended and a 35-year-old Barrow man was arrested on suspicion of GBH.

"The woman has serious but not life threatening injuries. She has been taken to Furness General Hospital.”

An eyewitness at the scene said there around 20 officers and six vans attended the incident.
