A MAN who claimed to live in a tent has appeared in court after stealing several bottles of wine from various supermarkets.
Duncan Rose, 50, of no fixed abode, appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court on October 7 in relation to three separate theft offences.
Rose pleaded guilty to stealing two bottles of wine from Tesco and the Coop in Ulverston costing £6.50 and £5.99 on September 17.
He also pleaded guilty to stealing another bottle from the Coop worth £6.49 on October 2.
Rose, who once said his address was a tent on Hoad Hill, Ulverston was given community orders in relation to the thefts and ordered to pay compensation to the two shops to the amount of the items stolen.
Magistrates also ordered Rose to pay a fine of £50 and court costs of £85.
