POLICE have received 11 reports of criminal damage after cars parked in a number of Barrow streets had their tyres slashed.

Thugs targeted nine cars parked in Harrison Street, one in Parade Street, and one parked in Clifford Street overnight between October 16-17.

Mark Purcell, of Harrison Street, said he thought his entire street had been affected, and saw some vehicles which had more than one tyre slashed.

He estimated the cost of the damage to be around £2,000.

Another victim who asked not to be named said his car had been targeted while parked in Parade Street and his father-in-law's car had been damaged in Clifford Street.

Police have launched an investigation in to the criminal damage spat and are asking anyone with information to contact 101.
