BOTH lanes are fully operational on the A590 at Backbarrow, following an incident earlier this morning.
An accident had caused heavy traffic as police closed one lane at the Brow Edge Road junction southbound.
The incident involved two cars, thought to be a Vauxhall Corsa and a Volkswagen Polo.
An oil spillage caused disruption and long tailbacks for drivers.
