POLICE are investigating a serious road traffic collision that shut the A590 on Friday evening.
The incident involved a motorcyclist and a pedal cyclist who collided a Thwaite Flat in Barrow.
A 50-year-old man and a 36-year-old man were both taken to Furness General Hospital but were later transferred to Preston Royal with serious injuries.
Both are in a stable condition.
The accident occurred early Friday evening and police were forced to shut the road between Elliscales roundabout and Park Road roundabout, causing major tailbacks through Dalton.
It was re-opened early on Saturday morning.
