TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 30-year-old woman in Barrow.

The woman was reportedly grabbed by a man and sexually assaulted as she walked past the former site of St Luke's Church, in Roose Road, on Tuesday, September 19 at around 12.50am.

The woman did not require hospital treatment and is being assisted by specialist officers.

DCI David Stalker said: "We have a number of detectives working hard to investigate this incident, and I would urge anyone who has any information that may help us bring the man responsible to justice to get in touch.

"If you were in the area at the time, and saw anything suspicious, or have any information, please let us know."

The two men, aged 26 and 47 from south Cumbria, have been released under investigation.
