TWO men have been bailed after being arrested following a ATM skimming scam at a local supermarket.

On Friday afternoon police were alerted to the detection of a skimming device on an ATM at the Asda superstore in Barrow.

The security company who monitors the cash points at the Walney Road store reported the discovery around 3.30pm.

A 55-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were arrested an hour later around 4.20pm on the A590 as they travelled towards Kendal.

The men, who gave home addresses in Blackpool were arrested on suspicion of fraud and possession of articles used in fraud. They were detained in Kendal overnight.

Police have advised anyone who used the cash machines at Asda over the past 48 hours to check their accounts, or contact their bank if they have any concerns.
