A TRIO of technology-based stores are set to come together under the same roof.

A new store, comprising Currys, PC World and Carphone Warehouse products, is set to open in Hollywood Park in Barrow tomorrow morning at 9am.

The premises, which was previously home to just Currys, had been closed for five weeks to allow the refurbishment to take place but general store manager, Peter Balmer, is raring to go ahead of the relaunch.

He said: "We are going to have a much wider range of products available and the whole store has been rearranged so that there is more choice for everybody.

"People will be able to see stuff in store that they have viewed on our website and there will be more opportunities for us to be interactive with our customers."

As part of the relaunch, the store has taken on 10 new members of staff and Mr Balmer thinks that this is an exciting prospect for Barrow.

He added: "People need to come down and see our new range. It is very different to the old store.

"It all works together as one. Now, more and more of our laptops are connected to Facebook via our phones and tablets so it makes total sense being all under one roof.

"This shows great investment for Barrow and we are really looking forward to showing people the new store."

The mayor of Barrow, Councillor Anita Husband was due to formally reopen the store in a small ceremony at 9am today.

The three stores are owned by retail giants Dixons Carphone, who are in the process of overhauling their PC World and Currys stores to relaunch as three-in-one stores which combine PC World, Currys and Carphone Warehouse.
