EARLIER this month, we published a list of things Barrow is famous for - and we asked you, our readers, to submit your own suggestions.

The article attracted huge interest, particularly from our readers on Facebook. The post ended up with 107 comments, 37 shares and reached more than 20,000 people.

Here's the list we kicked things off with:

Willie Horne;

In 1911, the maiden flight of the first seaplane to be flown in the UK took place from Cavendish Dock in Barrow (according to Dave W from Barrow);

Roger Fisher, the first ever race horse trainer and entrepreneur born in Barrow (suggestion from his son, John Fisher);
