A TEENAGER is set to be sentenced for stealing food from a Co-op store in Barrow.
Ashton Melissa Smith, of Paradise Street, Barrow, appeared at Furness Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with three counts of theft.
The 18-year-old admitted stealing food worth £4.58 from a Co-op store in Barrow on April 12, stealing Lynx deodorant cans and food from the Co-op in Island Road on April 10, and stealing £11 from Hazel Mercer on April 12.
Smith was granted bail until May 5 when she will return to the court to be sentenced. Magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report to be produced by the Probation Service, to include all sentencing options.
