A TEENAGER from Barrow has been given a 12-month youth offending order after being caught with a knife on school grounds.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named because of their age, pleaded guilty to being in possession of an offensive weapon - namely a three-inch butterfly knife, at a Barrow secondary school on march 15 of this year.
The school is not being identified to prevent identification of the youth.
At Furness Youth Court on June 23, the boy was given a 12-month youth offending contract and must pay £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
