SOUTH Cumbria's top cop has apologised after an expletive was inadvertently used in a police job advert.
Superintendent Rob O’Connor said it was down to a typo by the person responsible for placing the advert.
He added that it was amended once it was brought to their attention but not before it had been shared over social media.
The advert was for a temporary position as a front counter clerk in south Cumbria which was uploaded to the Cumbria police website on Tuesday. (25)
The role offers between £16,587 and £17,370 and states that the salary is paid pro rata in line with contracted hours plus additional allowances and then states that extra money paid for what should have said shifts.
Superintendent Rob O’Connor said: "This was a glaring typo by the person responsible for placing the advert.
"I can only apologise for any upset this has caused, and we immediately amended the advert once it had been brought to our attention.
"I can assure people this is a worthwhile role, and I would encourage them to apply for it."
If you fancy working for the police the closing date for applications is August 8.
