Today: After a chilly dawn, today will be a cloudier day with some showers, these mainly in the east where they will be wintry over the hills. The best of the breaks in the cloud will be in western parts. Maximum Temperature 7°C.
Tonight: There will be a good deal of cloud tonight with isolated wintry showers across the Pennines. Where cloud breaks, this most likely in the west, a patchy frost will develop. Minimum Temperature -1°C.
Saturday: Many parts will see a dry, but chilly, day on Saturday with variable cloud and some bright or sunny spells. However, scattered wintry showers may encroach the Pennine areas. Maximum Temperature 6°C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Turning increasingly cold with sunny spells by day and widespread frosts overnight. However, brisk northeasterly winds will drive scattered snow showers into northern and eastern parts on Sunday and Monday.
