VULNERABLE critters are living the life of luxury in newly-decorated digs thanks to Barrow’s answer to DIY SOS.
It comes after a chance meeting between Irene Cannon, who runs Furness Hedgehog Rescue in Dalton, and Ian Noble, managing director of Wardgroup in Barrow.
Mrs Cannon approached Mr Noble during the Heart of Ulverston Awards, to ask about some repair work that was urgently needed to the roof of her “hedgehog hospital”. Having only been asked to carry out some small repairs, Wardgroup went the whole hedge-hog by providing a new roof and replacement glazing as well as painting the outside of the outbuilding.
Mr Noble said: “Wardgroup takes it’s commitment to the environment seriously and are honoured to have helped Irene in this commendable and worthy cause.”
Anyone who finds a sick or injured hedgehog which needs nursing back to health can get in touch with Irene on 01229 464829.
