TORRENTIAL rains which swept across the area as a storm made its way through the county have flooded people's homes in Rampside.

At 1.32am on Tuesday night (14) fire crews from Barrow were called to Hall Garth, after two properties flooded due to Storm Aileen.

High winds and heavy rainfall were forecast as the first named storm of the season made landfall.

The street was under an estimated foot of water, causing two houses to flood. Crews used pumps to extract the water, and helped the residents mop up.
