Haverigg Prison
A PRISONER has appeared at court via video link accused of the attempted kidnap of a prison officer.
Nathan Paul Shepherd is charged with the attempted kidnap of Damien Pollard at HM Prison Haverigg on October 5, 2015.
The 25-year-old, an inmate at HM Prison Leeds, is accused of attempting to take or carry away the prison officer against his will.
Shepherd entered no plea during the hearing which was held at Furness Magistrates' Court, in Barrow, on Thursday.
The case was adjourned until May 20 at Preston Crown Court.
The court remanded Shepherd in custody.
