The pirate ship at the Dock Museum playground
A PIRATE ship play installation at a park in Barrow has been removed because the structure had become unsafe.
Barrow Borough Council has been forced to dismantle the pirate ship at the popular playground alongside the Dock Museum off North Road.
Parts of the structure had become rotten and it had become uneconomical to repeatedly repair the pirate ship.
The park had also become a hotspot for anti-social behaviour.
The Mail understands the council intends to replace the pirate ship once approval has been gained from the relevant council committee.
