A POPULAR American burger chain which has launched a series of openings in the UK has hinted at a possible outlet in Barrow.

Five Guys started out in Arlington, Virginia in 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell offered sage advice to their young sons: “Start a business or go to college”. The business route won and the Murrell family opened their first burger joint named, simply, Five Guys – after the five brothers.

Since then, the burger brand has grown and now has a number of outlets across the UK, including three North West restaurants; two in Manchester and one in Liverpool.

In a conversation on Twitter with self-confessed Five Guys fan Mike B, the burger chain hinted it might consider opening in Barrow.
