POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses after a man was assaulted at a Barrow Chinese takeaway.
Officers confirmed that a 46-year-old male was assaulted last night in Cavendish Street, Barrow at Yungnien Chinese takeaway between 10.30pm and 10.45pm.
The victim sustained head and facial injuries and was taken to hospital but did not require treatment.
A 31-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man remain in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of the assault.
Officers have launched an appeal for a male customer who was seen to be in the takeaway while the assault was taking place.
He is urged to make contact with police by calling 101 and asking for PC Cath Irish or calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
