POLICE are investigating an alleged sexual assault in Barrow and are appealing for information.
Cumbria Police said a sexual assault took place in Risedale Road, Barrow on bank holiday Monday at around 6pm.
Police said an 18-year-old female was grabbed by a male and thrown to the ground, where she managed to struggle free before running to the Co-op store on Roose Road.
Police are appealing to speak to two witnesses who spoke to the woman near to the Co-op store. The first is a female wearing black and white patterned trousers and a dark haired man in his 20s or 30s.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Cumbria police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
*An 18-year-old man was arrested in relation to the offence.
