THREE police vans raced into a Barrow street to arrest a man wanted on warrant.

The vehicles arrived in High Street at around 8.30pm this evening.

A small crowd gathered as the man was restrained by two officers.

But he then began to struggle and back up arrived in the shape of a further two vans.

The man being detained was shouting as a further male at the scene remonstrated with police.

It eventually took four officers to deal with the detainee who was put into the back of a police van.

Police confirmed he had been wanted on warrant but declined to give any further information.
