POLICE have confirmed a man's body has been found in Barrow.
The footpath in Channelside Haven close to Walney Bridge and North Road was cordoned off by officers sometime after 7pm last night. A member of the public is understood to have found the body in shrubbery behind Premier Tiles, shortly before 6.30pm.
Although the investigation into the discovery of the body is still in the early stages, there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

The path taped off by police from the Ferry Beach Road entrance close to Premier Business Park.
Police officers, including crime scene investigators, went underneath the police tape to attend the incident at approximately 7.30pm. The area is a popular spot for dog walkers.
Dave Staunton, the owner of Premier Tiles, said he had not yet been contacted by police about the discovery.
Mr Staunton said that while he did not know any information, a homeless man had been living in the area for some time but he had not been seen for a number of months.
DS Mike Wallace of Barrow CID said that formal identification of the adult male was yet to take place. However, the Evening Mail understands the discovery is not being linked to any current missing person appeals.
