AS part of an investigation into parking on Barrow Island, we want to know what you think.
The island has long been a source of contention between residents and shipyard employees, who many believe park on Barrow Island despite restrictions banning them from doing so.
When BAE Systems announced plans for a new car park to alleviate the issue, back in June 2016, many had their say. While some welcomed the plans, most argued it was simply not enough.
At the time, a resident who has lived in Dundee Street, Barrow, for more than 40 years said: “There‘s only one-sided parking on the street, but workers park all over the place.
“It doesn’t seem to matter to them.”
Another resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I just cannot believe just how many cares there are now.
“At least BAE are trying, but parking has been very annoying in the past.”
Is it a problem?
Has it got worse, stayed the same or improved?
