AFTER weeks of anticipation, luxurious jewellery firm Pandora has finally opened its store in Barrow.

The Portland Walk shop went through some last-minute adjustments but opened its doors to the public at around 4pm this afternoon.

Alex Crowe, who is the new manager of the store, said: "It looks absolutely brilliant and I think this is a great opportunity for Pandora to open in a town like Barrow.

"Everyone is welcome to come in and have a look, particularly if you have never been in a Pandora store before as there really is something for everyone and every occasion."

Helen Hogarth, who already owns three Pandora branches in Kendal, Bowness and Workington with her husband Graeme Hogarth, was there to oversee the first day of business.

She was overjoyed to see the store come together after months of hard work.

Mrs Hogarth said: "We are very pleased and we think the store looks really nice. It has been in the pipeline for about 10 months as we were waiting for the right property to come up but we are absolutely delighted and now that we are here we just can't wait to get started."

The store will be fully open tomorrow for its official launch event which will allow customers who spend more than £75 to receive a free Pandora gift from its prism of goodies.

Eight members of staff have been employed to offer expert advice to shoppers in the new store which had been unoccupied for seven years after previously being home to Jessops.
