A POPULAR Indian restaurant is returning to Barrow town centre.
The Mithali, latterly known as the Mitalee, closed its eat-in and takeaway restaurant at the bottom of Dalton Road in September 2016.
Following the closure of the Little Elephant on Walney, the Mithali had been Barrow's only eat-in Indian restaurant but the venue was later taken over by new tenants calling the restaurant Dhaba.
Now those behind the Mithali have submitted plans to Barrow Borough Council to open a new takeaway.
The new venture will be based in a former bridal shop at 44 Cavendish Street in Barrow - the hub of town centre takeaways.
The planning application, submitted by Mr A Shamim, states the business will create two full-time jobs.
A decision on the application is due to be made by February 2.
