A BUILDING developer is inviting residents to an open day to give the local community a chance to see the efforts being put into bringing four streets of previously neglected flats back to life.
Barros Trading Ltd is carrying out a major redevelopment on Barrow Island turning four of its historic streets; Ship, Barque, Brig and Sloop Streets, into modern but home-away-from-home fully serviced apartments.
The streets have been renamed Maritime Apartments and Barros Trading is keen for the permanent residents in the area to come and have a look around.
Between 11am and 3pm today the apartments are open to the public and everyone can view them and have a chat with Maritime Apartment staff about the future plans for the area and complex.
Manager Lisa Pearce said people can also take part in a question and answer evening with the Maritime Apartments team, including Barros Trading managing director David Rosenberg, in The Devonshire Pub, Barrow Island, at 6pm Tuesday.
All those wanting a tour should come to the Maritime Apartments office, 1B Braque Street, Barrow Island.
