BARROW'S newest retail outlet will open its doors to the public later this month.
The new Cancer Research charity store at Hindpool Retail Park is almost ready to open with stock now on display within the shop.
Cancer Research UK submitted a planning application to Barrow Borough Council to install signage to operate the unit as a retail store and warehouse back in September.
Cancer Research also has a smaller charity shop in Dalton Road.
Cancer Research's Business Development Manager Fred Wing posted the picture of the inside of the new store on Twitter and revealed the shop would open on February 22 at 11am.
The former Brantano unit at Hindpool Retail Park opposite Tesco Extra in Barrow has stood empty since the shoe retailer went into administration in January last year.
Signage was put up at the former Brantano unit in July of the same year, with bed retailer Dreams set to open in the empty unit. However this later fell through with Dreams pulling out.
Dreams had previously operated a 10,000 sq ft outlet in Barrow, on Hollywood Retail Park. The store opened in 2008 but closed a few years ago.
