A YOUNG beautician who has braved the world of business has thanked everyone who helped her finally open her own salon.

Having spent five years at respected salon Paul French, Kristy Linton has taken the bold step of opening a salon of her own, investing thousands of pounds in her own business.

Alongside four other beauticians, four hairdressers and an apprentice, the 31-year-old's salon Zest is now open for business in the former Post Office in Bowness Road, Barrow.

One of the salon's beauticians, Rebecca, is already being tipped for the top after reaching the top two of the World 'Face of the Future' competition with the winner to be revealed next week.

Former Walney School pupil Miss Linton said: "I’m very proud with what I have achieved and now finally after the long wait we are nearly ready to open our doors.

"It’s been a massive refurbishment project from a post office and shop with lots of local businesses being involved.

"I'd like to thank all the businesses that have been involved in the whole development and all our friends, family, and clients for being so understanding, kind and for their continued support."
