A NATIONAL retailer "still has dreams of opening a store in Barrow", the Evening Mail understands.
Primark is set to unveil new stores in Lancaster and Carlisle, and a source close to the retail giant's expansion team has revealed the firm is keen to secure a town centre site in Barrow.
Primark has been interested in opening a store in Barrow for a number of years, the Evening Mail understands, although it is believed the retailer is only interested in a large town centre or Dalton Road/Portland Walk location.
Last week, Primark revealed construction work was complete on Barrow's nearest store, in Lancaster, with an opening date penciled in for August.
