A VERY special flower arrived on Sunday night, just in time for Mother's Day.

Beautiful Daisy Ann Donald was born to parents Stephanie and John, from Greenodd, at Furness General Hospital at 12.41pm, weighing 7lb 15oz.

But whilst she may have chosen Mother's day to come into the world, she has her dad to thank for her name.

Mum Stephanie Donald said: "Her initials spell out DAD and he likes flower names because he does gardening work. He used to be a gardener at Holker Hall."

"At the moment he's a chef but he really wants to get back into gardening."

Daisy, who is the couple's first child, is already receiving lots of love and attention from relatives.

Mrs Donald added: "We have had a lot of my close family coming over, sisters and lots of aunts.

"It's my mum and dad's first grandchild so they were the first to visit."
