COMMUTERS travelling from Barrow to Windermere are facing cancellations after staffing problems hit the beleaguered Northern Rail franchise.
The 17.20 service from Barrow will now start from Lancaster, leaving passengers at the eight stations along the line stranded for almost an hour.
Northern announced the cancellations via their Twitter feed, saying the delay was due to "waiting for a staff member."

Passengers needing to travel to stations such as Dalton, Grange and Carnforth will be forced to wait until the next service at 18.03.
This disruption is the latest blow to hit travellers over the Christmas period.
Earlier in December a train had to wait for two hours after a conductor was left behind at a station.
The network were also accused of snubbing local students after it was revealed pupils at Furness Academy were not included in a student saver scheme.
Stations affected:
Barrow-in-Furness
Dalton
Cark & Cartmel
Grange-over-Sands
Arnside
Silverdale
Carnforth
