BOSSES at O2 have told mobile phone customers they may experience service problems over the coming days while the 3G and 4G networks are upgraded.

In a text sent to individual customers registered as living in Barrow, O2 said "In the next few days we're upgrading your 3G and 4G network in LA130EQ. It may affect your signal.

"We're always working to improve our network. We've even promised Ofcom to reach 98% of the UK population with indoor 4G by the end of 2017."
