Michaelson Road Bridge in Barrow closed on a previous occasion
THE bridge connecting Barrow Island with the rest of the town has been reopened after repairs being made to it were completed.
Michaelson Road Bridge was closed between 8am and 4pm on Sunday October 23 to enable Associated British Ports to carry out repairs and maintenance.
The bridge connects Barrow with Barrow Island. A diversion via Bridge Road, North Road and Hindpool Road was in place to allow Barrow Island residents to access the mainland.
A shuttle bus was provided for pedestrians using the diversion.
