A BARROW man is due to appear in crown court charged with causing grievous bodily harm after a man was allegedly attacked and left with severe head injuries.
Simon Ashworth, aged 27, of no fixed abode, has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent.
The charge relates to an alleged incident which happened at approximately 11.30pm on Wednesday, May 11 in Schooner Street, Barrow Island.
The 28-year-old victim of the alleged attack was left with severe head injuries and was taken to Furness General Hospital.
Ashworth is due to appear at Preston Crown Court today where he is expected to enter a plea.
