DETAILS of the death of a beloved pet are to be heard before a court.
Sam Simmonite is due to appear at Furness and District Magistrates Court on Monday (27) charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal by a failure to act.
It is alleged that on or around December 6, the 40-year-old, of Egerton Court, Barrow, failed to adequately control a lurcher-type dog which attacked and injured O’Malley, a ginger cat well-known around Barrow Island.
